Wind Ensemble

Description:

This ensemble is composed of 9th through 12th grade students and is the most advanced at San Leandro high school. Students are required to audition for this ensemble as well as receive approval from the Director. This ensemble will perform more challenging and rigorous music, so therefore students are expected to be technically proficient at a level needed to perform this music during rehearsals and performances. Students are expected to understand practice technique to help them be successful in building musical abilities such as: tone, rhythm, intonation, scales, different key signatures (all 12 major and minor) and time signature. We will also build a deeper understanding of music theory, history, production, and appreciation throughout assignments determined by the instructor.
